I have two of these. I use one for shade over my tent for the hot summer sun and one for shade and light weather protection over our seating area. I am very happy with the shade dome because I am aware of its limits. It will not keep out rain in a heavy downpour and if not guyed out securely, it can catch the wind and be prone to move around in extreme weather conditions. And it is best set up with two people since the poles are rather long and it can be a little tricky to set up by oneself. I have set it up by myself but it is easier with two people. I love mountainsmith products because they seem very durable and they are affordable and family friendly.
